Featuring: Marine Captain Eric McElvenny
We want to help you to start your Christmas celebration early with a morning of carols led by Stu Hayes and the Locking Arms Band (including a saxophonist and a trumpet trio), a power breakfast, fellowship and a great testimony from a military hero. Get a table, fill it with people you love and let the amazing life of Eric McElvenny stir your soul.
Eric McElvenny was a U.S. Marines captain in Afghanistan when he stepped on an improvised explosive device in late 2011. After surgeons amputated most of his lower right leg, McElvenny received an email from his commanding officer who wanted to know when he’d be running his first marathon. McElvenny decided to take that motivational suggestion even further by competing in triathlons, including several at the Ironman level. Those consist of a 2.4-mile swim, a 112-mile bike ride and a marathon- 26.2 miles. Eric’s gratitude, his love for his family and his deep trust in God’s purposes for his life are inspiring to all who hear his story.
